Location
Strömpilen shopping mall is located 5 kilometres east of city centre, by the bridge Kolbäcksbron, along E12 (toward Holmsund). Just beyond the shopping mall are the housing area of Gimonäs, ålidhem and Sofiehem. On the property there are also a number of offices: ålö HK, Hemtrivsel, Dokumentbolaget, Pelagia and SCA. Close by is Gimonäs Industrial area with a recycling plant, Returmarknad, Komatsu Forest, among others.

Bus to Strömpilen from Holmsund/Obbola
If you want to take the bus to Strömpilen, the bus lines 123, 124 and 125 to and from Holmsund/Obbola will take you there. Weekdays the buses run every 30 minutes. The bus ride to and from Vasaplan runs by NUS (University Hospital of Umeå) and takes about 10 minutes. The bus stops are located below McDonalds, by the river.
Walk or bike to Strömpilen
If you want to walk or ride your bike to Strömpilen, there are several nice sidewalks and bike lanes that lead there. The beautiful stretch of sidewalk and bike lane that runs along the river to and from city centre takes about 10-15 minutes by bike and 30-40 minutes by foot. From the surroundings of Carlshem and ålidhem you can either take the longest footbridge made in wood or the overpass across E12.
